The first meeting of the Masonic Widows Association was held on the 20th July 1985 at the Masonic Hall at Sutherland where the formation of the Masonic Widows Association was initiated.
Membership was strong in earlier days which enabled the Association to run a trading table at the meetings. As a result of their fundraising, they were able to donate funds towards the refurbishment of the kitchen.
Other donations over the years have been given to the Red Cross, Victorian Bush Fire Appeal, Queensland Flood Appeal, the Masonic Youth Welfare Branch and other needy Charities.
The Ladies have an active Membership although smaller in number and are still interested in all things Masonic.
They meet once a Month on Saturdays at the Gymea Bowling Club, Gymea commencing at 11:00 am.
The Meeting held in July this year marked their 30th year of operation which is a great achievement for the ladies.
Any ladies wishing to join this dedicated group in the future are encouraged to contact the Secretary of the 36 District Branch.
